Default the reason Wells sat...

....is probably because he asked to. It was a 12:30 start. In Boston they had
a 11:00 a.m. start and Manny Ramirez asked for the day off, according to Sox
broadcasters. It's not unusual for the team star to get little perks like
that.

All the same, the Jays could have used him yesterday.

But Manny is Manny. I don't think there are a lot of major leaguers who
would ask for a day off.

Yes for sure, imho if you start to take
days off this early in the season it's not
a good sign of things to come.

With FT gone and the very dismal
looking offence,with runners in sp.

They need vw's bat in every game,
they should have taken at least 3 of
the 4 games with the tigs, especially
the 1st game,rogers pitched a sloppy
game and was even outclassed buy
young rook the jays started.

They need to beat up on teams
like the tigs who are clearly stumbling
to find an answer for their horrible
start, and just may be the team contesting
for the wild card in Sept. The jays have
4 more with the tigs in Aug.and they
maybe a much better team by then??

** Toronto finished 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position Monday and
went 7-for-56 (.125) with runners in scoring position on this six-game
homestand, winning just twice.**

Although I don't pay much attention to
stats, but the above has been an all to
familiar one for the jays over the last
number of seasons.
