Their just playing possum right now,the
real jays should snap out of it around the end of august;>) They did start the 89 season 12-24 and came back to win he east, but their is no cito the saver on the horizon this time. Here is another in the long line of dumb ass quotes from jp who appears to be throwing in the towel already; J.P. Ricciardi attempted to take the heat off manager John Gibbons by putting the blame for the team's record on himself and the players. "If we don't hit, then we didn't have the team we thought we had," Ricciardi said. "That's the bottom line. We can't continue to compete in this league, in this division, with this type of offense and if this offense doesn't perform any better, then we were wrong on all the guys offensively, and that blame falls on my shoulders, not John Gibbons." The bottom line is the team isn't winning, isn't hitting and is blowing leads. That doesn't spell longevity for any manager, regardless of what the GM says. To bad he is not man enough to stick to his word when he said he would he would pack his bags and get out of dodge, if his so called five year plan failed.Rats usually get off the ship before it sinks,in jp's case he should do the right thing and go down with the ship.Or at the very least take a long swim in lake Ontario due south. But that would only further pollute the lake...so? What scares me most is that the last non american franchise in mlb may be close to leaving, that may well be the underhanded game plan king godfrey the first had in mind all along. |
