"I could not bear it that Monica Seles had driven Stefanie Graf from the
No. 1 spot in the rankings," Parche said at the time. "No one should ever
beat my Steffi." He testified that he was not trying to kill her, but that
he wanted to incapacitate her so that Graf could return to being the best
in the world.

It could have been much worse - it could have happened to players like
Graf & Henin - now that would be a huge loss to the game.

a completely classless response. most adults wouldn't write something
like that because it makes them look like a pig.

He told the judge that "Seles became #1 and started to beat Steffi
again and again!"

LOL!

When Seles was #1 she lost 3 of 5 matches against Graf.
Show us what a moron Parche was.

Why that?
Graf being out of the game for a few weeks being a "huge loss"???
Please ...

Who cares about Henin. Seles was much better to watch. She was a real
champion. Henin is collecting slams in a clown era. Whisper is a tool.

To the discerning tennis spectator Henin is far more aesthetically pleasing to
watch than Seles was.

Her movement and backhand (when she's not hitting it off her back foot
against Serena), yes. Nothing that aesthetically pleasing about her
serve or forehand, though. Seles' strokes weren't pretty, but she was
a far better shotmaker and competitor than Henin.
