I confess: I want to see Francisco Liriano do well, so it was sad to
see him pitch so poorly against the A's. But then again, it's a win for the A's, so ... After the first inning, this was a TCB game for the A's. They never let the Twins back into the game, and that's a good sign. Greg Smith pitched well again, and two new A's players got starts: Frank Thomas at DH and Rajai Davis in centerfield. This team is evolving strangely -- in ways no one could have foreseen -- and the results have been good. It's encouraging to see the A's get off to a good start, and I'm wondering why ESPN doesn't bother to at least give it three minutes on SportsCenter. But hey, I'd rather fly under the radar here for as long as possible. Side note: The A's are 14-7 right now in games against the AL Central and AL East. They've played the fewest division games of any team in the AL this year, by far: two. A's Record: 14-9 A's Should-Be Record: 16-7 |
