Default Leyland

Bonderman had a shaky first inning. Leyland goes out, says some stuff
to him, gives up 2 hits in the next 7 innings. Mets (Willie) should
take note.

What should he note? The 0-7 start?

I just got back from that Tigers - Yankee game up in the Bronx. Leyland's
done that with Bonderman before. He has the ability to calm pitchers down,
at least it seems to work with Bonderman.

I know Willie. I watched him play. I watched him manage. And let me
tell you, sir ... Willie Randolf is no Jim Leyland.

Going out on a limb, but I'll bet the Tigers finish with a better record
than the Mets. Don't think the 0-7 start is much of an issue. It's a
marathon, not a sprint.

Um, isn't the season a marathon for both the Tigers _and_ the
Mets? Seems to me that if Leyland is going to get a pass for the
Tigers' brutal start, then maybe we ought to cut Randolph a little
slack, too.
