Default Dead man walking?

Isiah Thomas has a disastrous win-loss ledger to rival Larry Brown¹s, with
all of the attendant controversy and confusion. So it seems only natural
that Thomas, like Brown before him, now finds himself trapped in a minefield
of uncertainty, awkwardness and speculation. Impromptu roadside interviews
could be in his near future.

Lovin' it.

Two people close to Walsh ‹ neither of whom wanted to be quoted speculating
on his intentions ‹ said they would not be surprised if Walsh kept Thomas as
general manager. Walsh would still have final authority on all personnel
decisions, while Thomas would be relegated to a more advisory role.

Such an arrangement would allow Dolan, who gave Thomas a contract extension
only a year ago, to save face after years of defending Thomas. And it would
provide Thomas a graceful way to leave the bench and pull away from the news
media spotlight while attempting to rehabilitate his professional
reputation.

Eff Walsh.

Dan, I think this is a great idea to make Thomas GM. It is like when
Steinbrenner fires a manager. It is normally the best thing to happen to
these guys. They get a job where they are not in the media spot light
anymore and collect on that contract. If all Zeke says is "I like this guy
Mikki Moore" and Walsh says, "That's nice Thomas, write me a report and I
will look at it" then turns away and rolls his eyes, that is fine with me.
