A reader tells us that KSHB in Kansas City is reporting that Chiefs
tight end Tony Gonzalez has requested a trade, and that one of the teams
in the running is the New York Gootball Fiants.  (It?s an inside joke
that you?ll understand only if you check the site every day, multiple
times per day.)
Though we haven?t confirmed that KSHB is reporting this information,
we?ve learned separately that, indeed, an effort is afoot to move
Gonzalez out of Kansas City.
The trade deadline is October 14 at 4:00 p.m. EDT

I hope for tony that his deal gets done. He will never ever get a ring
while playing for Herm Edwards. Tony has shown nothing but class and
respect for this organization. One of the few players that never got
arrested or got into fights and just simply never done anything to
embarrass this organization, I believe the Chiefs owe him this trade.

I hope he remains a Chief forever. He's too much of a good person to
get rid of. Maybe he can join the coaching staff in 3 or 4 years. He'd
make a great contribution.
