Tim Corrigan - Vancouver
Question:
I watched Norv say at the press conference that he thinks the #1 thing
the Bolts need to do is "execute better." I'm worried this means he can keep
ordering up the same game plan and that eventually the results will improve.
Do you have any sense that the coaches are feeling responsible for the
team's consistent underachieving since they took over (ok... except for the
playoff game against the colts)?
Answer:
He also said the coaches have to find ways to help the playmakers make
plays. He's taking it on himself. But the fact is, different players messed
up at different times yesterday. And, as much as it pains me to say, Tim
Sullivan pretty much nailed it today. This team is not the same as the one
everyone had the high hopes for.

Gabriel Cox - Concord, CA.
Question:
Okay Kev. Here we are 2-3, Pats coming to town. Who will step up and put
this team on his shoulders? Rivers, Tomlinson or Kaeding (just kidding, I'm
not a complete idiot) My money is on Phillip, your take?
Answer:
Not sure LT can at this point. A vote for Rivers, because the Patriots'
weakness is in secondary. But how about Shaun Phillips? How about Antonio
Cromartie?

Gary Matthews - Windsor, Ca
Question:
Hey Kevin: I hate to say it, but with games at home against New England,
Indianapolis, Denver, and yes even Atlanta, and road games against Buffalo,
New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay, things could get extremely ugly this
year. I'm trying to remain positive, but if the Chargers end up with a
losing record, do you think that would spell doom for Norv Turner? Or do you
think AJ Smith will remain committed to Norv as head coach to begin next
year, no matter what the record this year? Do you think there is any chance
that Dean Spanos would overrule Smith in the case of a horrible record this
year, especially if a hot coaching commodity became available? What is your
opinion? Thanks Kevin in advance for your answer.
Answer:
Norv isn't going anywhere.

Al Smith - Pacific Beach
Question:
Appreciate the mailbag Kevin and hope you'll be patient enough to answer
this irrelevant and untimely question so a dispute can be settled between
two knuckleheads on a message board. Who was responsible for cutting Wes
Welker, Smith or Schottenheimer? (Warned you that it was irrelevant).
Thanks!
-- Al Smith, Pacific Beach
Answer:
AJ Smith. There was no room for Welker at that time. They had Eric
Parker and Tim Dwight. Mistake. Who knew? (And thanks for the respite from
the avalanche of "fire norv" and "fire ted" and "what's wrong"
questions/comments.)
