Our defensive philosophy is totally out of control. Bend-but-don't-break is
a fine philosophy when exercised correctly, meaning you're willing to give
up soft yards in the middle of the field but you stiffen up in the red zone
and look to create turnovers. This is not happening. Our
bend-but-don't-break seems to involve allowing inferior offenses to walk all
over us week after week, not generating any pass rush, not defending the
inside run, playing a ridiculous soft zone that leaves receivers uncovered
on every play, and generally making mediocre opposing quarterbacks look like
Johnny motherfucking Unitas. This has to stop. It's not working.

We were 28th in yards (376/game) and points (28/game) allowed going into
today.

While Miami didn't score a lot of points, they had 390 yards of offense.

Most of us thought this D had a chance to be special...instead it's shit.

And they ran a quarter of their plays in a ridiculous high school formation,
which we were still powerless to stop.

I don't understand why we stopped bringing a middle linebacker to the
strong side
and attack if they didn't hand it to Williams. First two plays Wilhelm
came in clean, Later he was staying home in the middle and just got lost
in the traffic.

This team has an uncanny ability to stop doing things that are working just
fine. Look at our first offensive possession of the game. We were running
inside, 4-5-6 yards a pop, marching right down the field, and we just
stopped running the ball after we got past the 50. Running game was a
non-factor for the rest of the day. Now I might be a hopeless simpleton, but
I've always subscribed to the philosophy that when you're doing something
and it's working, you should keep doing it until it doesn't.

Agreed. Our only consolation right now is we may be blessed with being in
the worst division in the league.

Gotta love the pussies that come in AFTER the game to talk shit. At
least Dr. Dolphin had the balls to come in pre-game. Pussy troll.

I've been in and out of this room for months. I'm sorry I didn't
report to you earlier. But I'm now and so are the Phish.

Look at it this way. The Dolts would have choked sooner or later
anyway, so best to get it out of the way.

Not policing the room. Just making the comment that you didn't have
the balls enough to troll ahead of time. You played it safe until
your team won. no balls = pussy.

Well, this week we didn't do much against the outside run either - we
totally lost outside contain at least a couple of times.

You guys won the game, I'll give you that. But I'm not sure a fan of a
team that was 1-15 last year should start calling other teams chokers.
