It actually was the right call. The batter is required to put bat to ball
no matter where the ball is pitched.

Exactly right. Aybar was dancing all around in the box in game 1, fake
bunting and did nothing. Then on a squeeze he tries the quick bunt for
a base hit. I guess the smarts and playoff talent went to his brother.
