To put it bluntly, Paps scares me. He's almost unhittable. Glad we
worked through him.
When the 3-run single happened I almost quit watching the game. After
the ball going off Willits's glove against the wall in Game 2, Torii
(Torii???) getting handcuffed on a liner and dropping it, GMJ losing
it in the lights for a 3-base error, GA tonight having the ball go off
the top of his mitt...since when do we FUCK UP so royally in the
outfield???
I thought that play was Howie's to make - talkin' the 3-run single -
and he was REALLY on my shit list after that; Saunders did not deserve
that at all...then O-what? 12? Howie starts to hit!
And 0-13 Aybar gets the winning hit. Ahh...sanity.
I really thought when K-Rod came in he was gonna blow it. I wonder how
many heart attacks he's responsible for this year alone? But he got
Lowrie to line to right....un-be-fucking-lievable. How the hell did he
get out of the 10th and avoid ending the season?
Shields's stuff was SICK in the 8th and 9th. That's as good as Shields
gets. I'm hoping against hope that Mike sends him out for the 10th,
but no, K-Rod went out there. Getting ahead 0-2 on guys then giving up
a double. Up 1-2 on a guy and he walks him. (This year in microcosm.)
Somehow he squirms out of it. You gotta give it to him for the 62
saves, but I'd rather have Papelbon myself...GMJ had NO CHANCE against
him. 3 high rising 97mph fastballs. Sit down, GMJ...Paps walked Tex,
which if I believe what the announcers were saying...it was his first
BB since July 5th? Scary my friends, scary...
For the first time in the series, we caught a break or two, or the Sox
committed a little gaffe here and there. Ellsbury over-sliding and
Aybar paying attention to nail him at 2nd. There were a few others.
I thought Figgy's glove at 3rd was stellar, and he's not really a 3rd
baseman.
Yes, the RedSox fans are worse than the Yankmee fans now. But I like
guys like Youkilis and Lowell. They're great guys. Too bad so many of
their fans are such obnoxious alcoholic losers...(Witness their
symbolic feces spread around in this group.)
