"But losing Jeffries hurts the Knicks on many levels. His court smarts and
athleticism seem a perfect fit for DıAntoniıs up-tempo system. He is
probably the Knicksı best interior defender, and their most versatile
player."
This is how Isiah Lord Thomas III sold JJ to us. And remember when he was
injured back then (again?), Isiah Lord Thomas III used his missed defensive
prowess as an excuse for the misery of the team.
After JJ came back, he was perfectly ignorable, defense included. OK, it
doesn't take much to get branded as the "Knicksı best interior defender,"
but c'mon, Jeffries as defensive bulwark? Letıs get real.

Testing testing... this is a PSA. I believe my post was eaten this
morning and am seeing if this registers. You can now return to your
regularly scheduled discussions.

Yep. Things aren't going to change much until this team gets blown
up. I think even your pal Isiah Lord Thomas III figured that one out
by now. The only one who seems to still be holding out is one James
Dolan.
However, until then (and due to the "media policies" of our latter
friend) you're not going to see anyone get in the paper and say,
"Well, this roster sucks, these guys don't play together or
particularly well, and the coach is a poor fit for the team. We don't
expect to seriously compete. We're just trying to generate some bucks
and get some of our usual league-best and highest-priced ticket sales
and TV ratings for a couple of years until the contracts start
dropping off the books".
