The Cardinals continued to shape their pitching staff for the 2009
season Friday with their second re-signing of the week. First, it was
Kyle Lohse. Next, they signed his pitching coach.

Dave Duncan, the longest-serving pitching coach in major-league
history, signed a new contract with the Cardinals on Friday.

The contract will keep manager Tony La Russa’s right-hand man and
trusted advisor with the Cardinals through 2009. The deal also has an
option for 2010.
