New York Giants (3-0): A-
Strengths:
.. First place in the NFC East. The only undefeated
team in the NFC is playing smash mouth football a
nd has not had a letdown after winning Super Bowl
XLII.
.. Great pass rushing defense with 13 sacks in just
three games and a running game that consists of
Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw.
.. Head coach Tom Coughlin is at the top of his game.
Weaknesses:
.. Overall depth on defense. With the retirement of
Michael Strahan and loss of Osi Umenyiora to injury,
the Giants cannot afford to lose more players.

---
Washington Redskins (3-1): B+
Strengths:
.. After losing the season's first game against the Giants,
Washington's star players have stepped up in a big way.
Santana Moss has 421 receiving yards (105.3 ypg) and
three TDs, while reliable running back Clinton Portis is
tied for forth in the NFL with 369 yards.
.. Jason Campbell has thrown six touchdowns with no
interceptions and has a 102.2 quarterback rating. On
defense, the secondary has five interceptions through
four games.
Weaknesses:
.. Poor pass rush (six sacks in four games) and an inex-
perienced head coach in Jim Zorn.

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/26994647/?pg=4#spt_NFL_JT_firstquarterreportcards
---
Dallas Cowboys (3-1): B+
Strengths:
.. The passing attack, led by Tony Romo, is off to a good
start, as Terrell Owens has caught four touchdowns and
Jason Witten has 363 receiving yards.
.. In the rushing attack, Marion Barber and Felix Jones
are a great running back duo and should dominate oppo-
nents in the fourth quarter of crucial games.
Weaknesses:
.. Romo is turnover prone (four interceptions and a fum-
ble lost in four games).
.. The secondary is weak against the pass with no inter-
ceptions, and cornerback Terence Newman is losing
confidence by the minute.
---
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/26994647/?pg=6#spt_NFL_JT_firstquarterreportcards
---
Philadelphia Eagles (2-2): C+
Strengths:
.. A healthy Donovan McNabb throwing to receiver De-
Sean Jackson, who is averaging 14.9 yards per catch.
.. Run defense is giving up only 53.8 ypg on the ground
along with 17 sacks.
Weaknesses:
.. Poor rushing attack, as Brian Westbrook is not 100 per-
cent and is averaging only 3.8 yards per carry.
.. Philadelphia is 2-2, and that is good enough for last place
in their division.

Tough to argue with any of those grades. Though it pains me to say
it, the 'Skins might deserve an A- for defying all expectations to
this point with 3 quality wins including the one in Dallas last week.
They are going to be a hell of a lot better than anyone thought after
Week 1. The Eagles might really be a B-. They were a play or two
away from being 4-0. The game between these two this weekend will be
a biggie.
Good stuff, this NFC East. Every inter-divisional matchup is going to
be like a mini-playoff game this year.

Clock/game managment at the end of the Giants game was pretty bad.

True, but ancient history at this point. The last three have been
fine. Just fine.

Giants are so well balanced it is erie. Top 10 in EVERY category. If the D
picks it up a notch it will be reminiscent of '86. With Osi it might have

You are the team to beat!!
Dallas looks good on paper. Like the Skins did for many years.
Without the production. I'm curious to see how the son of bum calms
the finger pointing. After 1 loss. This is where they will miss
Parcells.
Looking forward to the rematch, and maybe redemption!! On Nov 30th.
Who knows where the East will be by then.
