View Full Version : Next Year
Triple 10-02-2008, 03:01 AM Well, next year, it looks like it is time to find a new group. We win a play
off game and there is not so much as a "Hooray."

Postel's Law:
That was a thumping. Classy move by Cubs fans to cheer Maddux. I don't think
Dodger fans would show that type of class (unfortunately)
Thought Martin's ball early in the game was a home run, didn't think Loney's
had a chance. Wind was doing some weird stuff.

Maybe people get suspicious. Or maybe this is a dead group.
I any event, congrats.

Actually, I meant superstitious.

Exactly. Actually I was cheering like a madwoman listening to the
game. I think it was important to get that momentum and the first win
on the road but it is still just one win. Little too soon to be
breaking out the champagne.

Hmm. I thought suspicious made perfect sense. I don't want to name
names, but I think one or more of the posters are out to get me . . .
:-)

Oh sure. There's a reason the Cubs had the best record in the league
this season, despite their play tonight.
Still, Billingsley has been one of the top pitchers in the league this
season, especially after that horrid start. It'd be nice to drive a
stake into the Cubbies' hearts tomorrow.

I can get behind that. I like the Cubs but like Little T said, they
are in the way. This is the post season and a whole different
caliber of teams then they've been up against in our Western neighbors
but this team is up for the challenge. Unlike that other hitter guy
they got, Man Ram is the real deal and with him, Ethier, Kemp, Martin,
Lowe...Dodgers have a real offense. It's fun to watch.

can't get behind this google posting. I have got to make the time to
get a newsreader if I am going to keep up.

Sorry, man. Couldn't get to the computer after the game last night.
Called away on a customer emergency. I'm glad they had the decency to
wait until after the book was closed on Game 1.
If not for Loney's swing, this could have VERY easily been a different
story, but I am glad to see the kids aren't shaken by the concept of
post-season. Three long-balls, and in one inning at least two warning
track outs.
Great job by the pitching staff for shutting down the highly potent
Cubs line-up. Soriano oh-fer-five. DeRosa the only one to get
anything.
I hope tonight the Dodgers attack Zambrano and not let up until they
come home up two-nil.

Yes, but they doubled the number of wins over the last 20 years. U/f,
I can no longer say I attended the one playoff win.
