View Full Version : LOHSE: 4 more years!
x-no-archive: yes
Kyle Lohse signs a 4-yr. deal ($40 mil.[?] mentioned on FSN) with the Birds
thru 2012.
Sorry, to those who desperately wanted him gone in some misbegotton trade
deal in July.
You have 4 more years to learn to like him.

It's because of stupid fans like you, Roy, that teams make stupid
moves like this one.
>You have 4 more years to learn to like him.
It hasn't worked for you.

I have to say that 10M/year is less than I thought they'd have to pay him.
I guess that's probably because they are giving him 4 years. You can bet
that a couple of those years they will be paying for league average or
worse. He should have held out longer. The Yankees or some other big
market team would have given him more albeit for only 3 years.

The no trade clause is a hidden gem in the contract. To unload him, the
Cards will have to sweeten the pot.
I think all players look at security, and not being traded is security.

They gave him a no-trade? Then this is definitely is a horrible contract.
When his ERA is over 5.00 and a "change-of-scenery" trade isn't an option
it's gonna stink for the Cardinals. Then again maybe he'll want to leave.
