The NBA fined Gilbert Arenas (Was) and the Wizards $15,000 each for Arenas
missing media day.

Miami signed Eddie Basden, Tre Kelley, Omar Barlett, and Matt Walsh.

Chicago signed Elton Brown, Roger Powell, and Darius Washington.

The LA Clippers signed Dontell Jefferson, Jelani McCoy, David Noel, and
Curtis Sumpter.

New Orleans signed Jared Jordan and Courtney Sims.

Phoenix signed Coleman Collins, Robert Hite, and Trey Johnson.

Shane Battier (Hou) is expected to be out for 4 weeks due to an
inflammation in his left foot.

Jason Williams (LAC) announced his retirement from the NBA.

[Note: all training camps open by Tuesday and most of the many signings
over the past and next couple of days are to minimum, non-guaranteed
contracts with the players likely to be cut before the regular season
starts.]
