Pujols will come so agonizingly close to a batting title in arguably his
finest season, despite missing a total of 14 games [a 15th game the other
night he played only in the field, no ABs].
With his (current) 3-for-3 night, he is now at .357 (up 4 pts.,
185-for-518).
C. Jones still far away at an awesome .365 (160-for-438 .365297).
If Jones doesn't play again in '08, Pujols would have to go 7-for-7 in the
remainder of this game and in the last two games to pass him at .366
(.365714).
Damn that recent 2-for-23 funk that doomed his chance!
