As many of the RSB regulars know, I enjoy being the sole true fan of
my main man Eric "Butterbean" Esch. It is a lonely position, but
someone has to do it.

Several years ago, he was showing much promise in his brawling style.
He was starting to use his jab effectively, slipping punches, and
dropping pretty good right hands over the top that landed right on the
button. Why even his footwork was improving!

This video clip shows one of his flaws; when he is tagged, he drops
his hands. All Mark Potter had to do is time his right hand punch,
watch Butterbean drop his hands, and then throw another right hand
with added power.

Eric "Butterbean" Esch is a good man, earns his money, takes good care
of his wife and children. But his time has come, to step back, drop
his hands in retirement, enjoy the good life in Japser, Alabama, where
he has earned the community's respect, concentrate on managing his
successful restaurant.

Enjoy.

I've always been a fan, too. Anyone who looks like that and can make a
living in the fight game should get respek for sheer chutzpah.

Although he was never in the mix for greatness, he hits very hard when his
technique is on and he had surprising stamina and handspeed for someone with
his physique.

You and he are frickin' nuts for being a longtime fanatic of a circus
freak like Butterbean. It wouldn't surprise me if Butterbean ate
himself to bankruptcy and that is why he keeps fighting long past time
to retire.

Don't be such a drama queen.

Esche probably had guys like you and The Invalid telling him his whole life
what a fat fuck he is and that he should forget boxing. I'm glad he told
you guys to go fuck yourselves and gave us some interesting fights. Go
Bean!

Nreen, somehow, I find your credibility slightly off center.
