Deward 09-25-2008, 02:21 AM His line last time out was 4 IP, 10 R, 9 H
Tonight he improved... 4.1 IP, 6 R, 10 H
Can he, if necessary, come back on Sunday?

If we needs to win Sunday, it will probably be Hamels. If we clinch
before Sunday, I think Happ.

Ask and ye shall receive. Cole beat these very same Atlanta Braves on
September 18, 4-3.
Actually, it always seems that there is one pitcher on every staff who
suffers from "lack of support", and in our case it is Hamels. Only
once in his last 10 starts did he give up more than three runs, and
yet he is only 5-3 over that period, including the 3-2 defeat on
Tuesday which I blame more on Charlie.
While I hope it is not necessary, I'd be happy to see Cole pitch on
Sunday.

Oh, well, that wasn't so long ago.

I wonder if the hitters feel like they can take it easy (perhaps
subconciously) because Hamels is on the mound.

Me too.
