Manny Pacquiao is a certified modern boxing phenom, no bout about it…
and hell, his arch-enemy J.M. Marquez is shoe in Hall of Fame fighter
too in my mind , but maybe…just maybe Pacquiao’s best weight was
behind him pre-Marquez… though maybe not too...So okay, here’s a
question ---------------->by the time he fights DeLaHoya, Pacquiao
will have traversed an astonishing NINE weight classes as a
professional fighter, but what was Pacquiao’s best weight; the place
he would’ve made hay as an all-time X-weight?

Wrong place to post about Pacquiao... unfortunately, nobody cares about
lightweights in here.

The only interest in this ng is overhyped black heavyweights, John Ruiz, and
a fat obese white guy called Butterbean.

Word to the wise.... there's a homo in here called DCI who has a man-love
thing for Butterbean. Keep an eye on him, and don't accept any candy from
him.

Seeing how strong he was in his last fight against David Diaz, I would
have to say that 135 is his peak weight. He looked very strong and
crisp.

I think anything above 135 and the smaller 140 pounders, Manny's
strength would be neutralized. I am wondering if Freddie Roach knows
something everyone else doesn't know about Manny. He is the main one
pushing this fight against Oscar DeLa Hoya. This fight could be a
massacre for Manny. Going up to 147 to fight a man who has been
fighting at 150 may be too big a jump.

Am I the only one who thinks Oscar might have trouble making 147 and
come in weaker than usual?

When was the last time Oscar fought at 147?

hmm, I’m not sure....kind of what i'm asking is would Manny, already
an all-time great, have been an all-time great lightweight or an all-
time great __________ ? Btw, i think the fight with DeLaHoya is first
and foremost about packing Many and Oscar's retirement fund as fat as
it can get......no argument there from me, but i also think if
DeLaHoya is imposing his will and WEIGHT on MannyP, then Freddie Roach
will just throw the towel and everybody will ride a big payday to the
bank. The intrigue here is the what-if ,the big IF............if Manny
can capitalize on a DeLaHoya who‘s past his prime to the point of
jacking the lever and not pulling the trigger on a younger, faster
guy.

Oscar fought Gatti at in 2001 at 147. That was the last time. Since
that time he has been as high as 160 (against Felix Sturm) in 2004.
His most recent fight in May against Steve Forbes was at 150. So I
don't think Oscar will have too much trouble making weight.

Visually, his combination of physical tools/talent and boxing skills
seemed best to me at 130 lbs. Of course he has had tougher fights as he
reaches higher on the weight scale.

I am intrigued by this ODLH fight at 147 lbs. And I'm not quite sure who
to pick.

Nor do I. Oscar never really gained much muscle above 147 (at best);
unlike Holyfield and Jones, who lifted and juiced their ways into
heavier, but still very LEAN fighters, Oscar always looked very flabby
in recent years. And fat is MUCH easier to lose than muscle.

Care to support that assertion?

Don't you feel bad about posting something so foolish and not even
backing it up? Your mom, assuming you have a human one, must be
proud.
