OK!
The anger is wearing off and I can now sit back (thanks to a 12 pack of bud)
and think about what happened today.
As I see it now, Herm still sucks but I saw a lot of rookies play as good as
they could.
One thing , besides Herm's obvious stupidity , really stands out.
It looks like Larry Johnson has lost his drive to compete.
He now looks like he is not only running up hill, but running up a ladder.
If he could find the fire again maybe our running game would improve.
But I was impressed by the play of most of the rookies.
I believe this season is going to be a very painfull one, but we do have
some tallent
that may ease the pain.

All the Chiefs need is a coach, a QB, and a RB who cares. That's all.

The RB cares. An awful lot. If he didn't, he'd just shut up, collect
his fat paycheck, and just go along to get along. We need more guys
that care as much as LJ.

I have to disagree with you there, Mr. Blue. LJ may indeed care, but
only about himself... not the fortunes of his employer.

WWBD. What would Belichick do? He'd bench LJ until he decides to play
with intensity. If he can't trade him that is. I think we should be
thinking about this.

We can think about it all we want, but the bitter facts are we can't do
anything about it.
Unless the stadium doesn't sell out for home games anymore.
Now that would start to shake things up and maybe get the powers that be
start
thinking about the decisions that have been made .
You have to hit them where it really hurts..........The wallet.

Absolutely. The trouble is that only a relatively small percentage of
the team's revenue comes from the sale of tickets. Sure... they'd
rather sell more than less, but the biggest chunk of a team's revenue
comes from the TV networks. It is, after all, the amount of TV
revenue that determines how much each team can spend under the salary
cap.

If there are 80,000 fans in the stands who spend an average of $60 for
each ticket, and another $50 each for parking, concessions, etc. (and
assuming that these concessions have a gross profit margin of about
66%) that's about $7.5 million per game, and $75 million over the ten
home games in the season... IF every game is sold out, everybody who
has a ticket goes to the game, and everybody who goes spends a lot of
money there. Yet the league currently takes in $3.73 BILLION per year
in TV revenue, which when divided between 32 teams is $116 million. I
haven't even gotten to licensing of merchandise and all the other ways
that teams bring in revenue.

It all boils down to this: it's generally accepted that TV revenue
accounts for about two thirds of all revenue for an NFL team. Ticket
sales account for a relatively small chunk of the pie. So yes... a
team notices when fans start staying away, but it's not like a fan
boycott necessarily makes a team profitable or unprofitable.

True!
I guess I didn't consider TV and their impact on the game.
But it would sure look strange to see a televised game with nobody in the
stands.

Why do you say that, Mr. RDOGuy? In his outburst, LJ clearly stated he
needs the ball more to help his team win, while defending his Offensive
Line, which he always does, and blaming himself for poor decisions
running. LJ has NEVER blasted a teammate, AFAIK, only dumb coaching and
gameplans, like most Chief fans have for the last 2+ years. If LJ cared
only about himself, he'd shut up and cash his checks. He's already got
his money. But he wants to win above all else, and knows on this team,
he's one of our main vehicles to help us do so.

I don't see anything compelling to make me believe one way or the other. To
me it looks like he is in LJ Limbo.
