View Full Version : Herm Edwards...wow!
madhatter 09-15-2008, 05:12 AM For sheer ineptitude, conservative play-calling, poor clock
mismanagement, self promotion, and total lack of game management skills,
Herm "Corky" Edwards has no peer. Herm is in a class all by himself. He
never disappoints and has now taken the once proud Chiefs offense into the
stone age, proving his Jets years were no fluke.
This guy may be the worst coach of all time!

Rich Kotite was probably worse...

Da Blue Guy 09-15-2008, 07:15 AM Rich Kotite made Herm look like a competant head coach, which is hard to
do. The job Kotite did in the Jets 1 win season was the worst head
coaching job I've ever seen in the NFL.

madhatter 09-15-2008, 02:49 PM Yes, Rich Kotitie was bad but he is a one hit wonder. Herm "Corky" Edwards
has mulitple teams and seasons on his awful legacy.
Have you watched Herm's self promoting press conferences and last years HBO
series????
I rest my case!

Kotite was a good offensive coordinator and a good judge of talent. His
head coaching abilities speak for themseves. Kotite believed in a short
practice, so he could get to the golf course by 1pm. His game planning was
non esistant and his assistant coaches were guys no one ever heard of then
or now. If Herman Edwards would let his assistants do what they had to do
and stay out of the way, KC would have a decent chance to have a 500
season...

That's because Edwards is a media whore. I remain convinced that his
ultimate goal is to be a sports anchor for ESPN.

And exactly how, Mr. Ass Clown, do you know that Edwards *doesn't*
stay out of the way of his assistants? Are you wearing a headset
during the games, so you know that Edwards is overruling play calls?
Are you in the position meetings, so that you can report that Edwards
barges in and takes over?
I honestly have no idea whether Edwards micromanages his coaches. But
neither do you.

Why is it so hard for so many to understand this concept? KC's goal is not
to have a .500 season. Nor is it to win any specific games. Among the
goals of the Chiefs for 2008 is to begin development of an offensive line
and QB that will carry the team for 10 years. It's to strengthen a
potentially decent D. If KC goes 0-16 and finishes the year with a very
promising QB in Albert, a strong LT, some other promising OLs, a potential
All Pro in Dorsey, and a few more high potential guys, the season is a
success. 0-16 doesn't make the playoffs, but neither does 8-8.

Well stated. Rebuilding is ugly, and it's obvious that most of the
people who have been clamoring for it didn't really know what it entails.

Same M.O. as in New York. Herm went through many assistants that were well
respected in the football community and the result was the same. The only
constant, Herman Edwards...

If Paul Hackett is well respected (as an OC), that doesn't say much
about the football community. About the only positive thing I can think
to say about him is that Mike Solari was probably even a worse OC, and
yes, I do blame Herm for his hiring.

How about the defensive side. Ted Cotrell, well respected for his work in
Buffalo. How about the Defensive coordinator for the Titans who jumped ship
and went to the Jets under Edwards? He is now in Denver doing a fine job!!!

Obviously, you haven't watched a Denver game recently. Their defense
makes the Chiefs' D look like the '85 Bears.
Da Blue Guy 09-20-2008, 06:37 PM Denver's defense shut down the Raider's in Oakland in week 1. You know,
the same Raiders that made our Defense look like schoolgirls, rushing
for 300 yards at Arrowhead. I wouldn't be so quick to put our D on an
85 Bears plane compared to Denver's.

Jon Jon 09-22-2008, 04:01 AM Actually, as a Bronco fan, I liked "Uncle Marty" alot better than Herm -
Uncle Marty always brought us a Christmas present as he did when he was
in Cleveland.
Is the rent at Narrowhead paid ?
Relax, relax, it'll be a close game, most of ours are.
The Broncos have no Defense so I'm sure the Chiefs will run all over us.
~THE END~

It kinda depends on whether they were embarrased into a better performance
by the beating they have taken in the press all week for the way things have
been going. I would have said I hoped the team that played NE Sept 7 would
show up, but not after they got their asses kicked by the fish.... pathetic.
