View Full Version : Underachievers or just plain crappy?
Caldera Fire 09-14-2008, 09:10 PM After watching the Vikings hand the last two games away, I would have
to say that they are just not a very good team. Take away Adrian and
a couple of other players from the roser and what is left? Pretty
much nothing.
So, why do all of the national football "experts" think that this team
is a title contender? The Vikings haven't done anything on the field
to prove that they are, yet in the off season we had respected
individuals touting the Vikings as a potential Super Bowl team.
That's a bunch of hogwash, if you ask me. They will be lucky to win
half their games this season, especially considering their oh-fer-two
start. Doesn't sound much like a Super Bowl team to me, let alone a
playoff contender.
And it doesn't get much easier in the coming weeks. The Vikings need
to right their ship damn fast or it will be over before they know it.
Then it will be "Oh, you are such good fans, just wait until next
season" and we will be starting all over again with a new coach, a new
QB, etc. I don't know if I can handle another underachieving, crappy
year from this team.
Jeez! Just beat some of the good teams, all of the bad teams and make
the frickin' playoffs for once, will ya???

The Herman Munster quarterback has a rating of 59.0 That is all you need
to know, Adrian Peterson cannot throw the ball for him, although he would
most likely do a better job.

I can't say its Tarvaris Jackson's fault. In previous years, we
actually had receivers who could catch the ball: e.g. Cris Carter and
Randy Moss. You didn't have to make a perfect pass for those guys to
make big plays all the time. Who do we have for go-to receivers now?
With our receivers, you could make perfect passes and our guys would
still would find ways to drop passes. Today Shiancoe dropped a sure
touchdown, Berrian could've had a big catch if he didn't stumble. You
should note that Jackson's fumble was because Hicks was clueless and
let Freeney get to him without any resistance. Also, with all the
carries to Peterson, why did we get having him run straight up the
middle, instead of mixing things up with runs to the outside? Maybe
it would help if we actually did some screen passes to him, with
blockers ready so he'd have room to room (unlike the couple we tried
today).
Childress is pretty lame as a coach. In 2005 with Tice, our offense
had Mewelde Moore and Michael Bennett at RB instead of a superstar in
Adrian Peterson, no Steve Hutchinson on the O-Line, yet we were a 9-7
team, and with pretty much the same team intact, was turned into a
6-10 team the next year under Childress. Things are looking any
better with him still at the helm.

I can't say its Tarvaris Jackson's fault.
The last five Super Bowls were won by Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Peyton
Manning, and Ben Roethlisberger.
It would be a violation of common decency to even mention T-Jack in the same
paragraph.

NERD: I think with Peterson, they could win just enough to keep Chilly
around another year or two.

RickyBobby 09-15-2008, 02:10 AM I can't say its Tarvaris Jackson's fault.
I can say its Tarvaris Jackson's fault. He cannot throw the ball now any
better than he could before.
Whose's fault is it then?
You jocklickers absolutely refuse to attach blame to a player for poor
football.
Anybody who believes that Tarvaris Jackson is an NFL quarterback needs
professional help.

59.0? You have GOT to be kidding... Even though GB's hall of fame QB
left for the Jets, they *STILL* have the best QB in the NFC North.
All the sports talk shows, and NFL network kept saying how The Vikings
were going to win the NFC North...
Fear_The_ Swamp 09-15-2008, 01:58 PM The reason for losing is so plain and simple that a 3rd grader can point
it out. Terrible coaching and a terrible quarter back. It's really that
simple.
