Wow, this baseball season is getting excited.

Of course the Reds are out of it but they are proving to
be thorns in the side of the contenders. Man, what a
stake in the heart last night to the Brewers fans.
Memories of 99 prevent me from feeling bad for them.

Still five words I never wanted to hear again: Corrie
Patterson is leading off. I don't argue playing him
but it's an insult to our intelligence to bat him
lead off.

Good move by Dusty in not bunting Dickerson though. Dickerson
can work a count and did so for a walk. Tremendous at bat.

Apart from the Reds though, this is going to be quite a
race to October in both leagues. Looking at that Tampa Bay
schedule the next 15 games I knew that looked like trouble.
Maybe they can still right the ship.

And what about Houston? Playing some good ball since the all-star
break. With Chicago and the Brewers stumbling can the Astros
find their way somehow to the wildcard? Phillies are still
in that too.

And what about the West? Arizona is dropping quick. The have
moved Dunn to first base. He provided an error over there but
the game was long lost at that point. At least they having batting
where he should have been batting here, up in the lineup.
