Like the A's, the Tigers are out of contention and looking ahead to next season. A recent bright spot has been the hitting of talented leadoff man Curtis Granderson.

Bright spot of the season...a series win in Minneapolis over the
Twins. Rodney getting the Twinkies two best hitters out with men on
base two days in a row. Made me smile all weekend despite how badly
the Lions did.
Twins are sinking fast. Lost series to the Mariners; split a series
with the A's; swept by the Jays, lose a series to the Tigers. Now
they get the Royals and Orioles for 3 games each. Maybe they'll
redeem themselves or maybe they'll slip further down in the standings
and fall below the Indians.
Tigers are playing their Mud Hens. Dusty Ryan get his first major
league hit on Sunday, a home run. Chris Lambert redeemed himself from
his last outing and pitched pretty well. Miguel Cabrera got his
1,000th hit, a home run. The season is over for the Tigers but there
are a few positives to take pride in.
