View Full Version : Brady out with torn ACL
Looks like the law of averages finally caught up with him, as he hasn't
missed a regular season game since 2001. This is the year Buffalo takes
the East!

While I'd never wish injury on the guy (I reserve that only for
McGahee), this just brings a little more parity to the AFCE. I still
think the division is the Patsies' to lose (I say that because they
have great D & O-lines, above average receivers in Moss & Welker, and
a good running game with Maroney & Morris), but nothing's guaranteed
anymore.

Their defense has been nothing special. And their O-line is banged-up.
Without Brady, their offense drops several notches.

Agreed. I don't know where the original poster came up with his
reasoning on the Pats having a "great" defense line and offensive line.
Those might be their biggest weaknesses.

It just makes it a lil bit easier for our Bills. I heard the game and
thought it was a good one. I don't think the Seahawks were a tough
test. Let's see how we do when we play the Jets and Pats.

happened!!!!

Not a tough test?? The Seahawks were Division Champions in 2004, 2005,
2006 and 2007. As far as the NFC goes you don't get much better than
that. Bills routed a very good NFL team on Sunday.
Bills will have no problem with the Jets or Patriots. Both struggle
against very weak teams in week one.

As a person, I feel bad for Brady. Any time an injury keeps someone from
doing what they love, and are great at, it's sad.
But as a Bills fan I am thrilled. Not only because it should give some
balance to the div, but because of their obnoxious fans and the evil
hoodie.

Their biggest weaknesses???
The Pats' O-line had 3 Pro Bowlers last year.
Let's see...their D-line? Seymour-Wilfork-Warren-Jarvis Green, with
Adelius Thomas and Mike Vrabel blitzing from the outside? Take off
your homer-colored glasses and admit the obvious. It's a good think
you're not a coach, I don't think Jauron will be underestimating the
Pats any time soon.
I'm happy the Bills looked good against a beaten up Seahags team. But
I'll wait until half way through the season before I start drawing any
conclusions about where this team is headed.

Wow, you really don't want to commit at all do you? So if the Bills go
7-0 (which is very possible) you're still going to wait for the half way
point to make up your mind about how great this team is??
Let me help you make up your mind......The Bills are going to win the
AFCE going away!
<it's a Bender guarantee!!>

I'd rather blowout the Seahags than barely scrape by the Chefs. Losing
Brady is a huge blow for the Patriots. Although now we'll see if it was
the system, Brady, or something else.

Well it's a good thing I've got a coupon for a free sandwich at Wegman's
otherwise I might be hungry at the end of the season.

I will agree the Pats Oline is still above average. The Bills do have a
better Oline this year though.

I havn't been inpressed with Seymour in about 2 years now.The rest on
the Dline is average to me.Adelius Thomas did nothing last years. He is
looking old real fast.Vrabel is still decent and a clutch pass
rusher. That being said they will be solid on defense.Last year they
were a bend but don't defense. They came up with big stops when
needed(except the SB).I look for more of the same from them this
year.Solid but beatable.

It was a very beat up team.I don't take much from that game. The only
real thing I take from it is,I think the Seahawks could beat the
Chiefs.A win is a win in the NFL.Move on to next week.
For anyone thinking Matt Cassel can play any where near as good Brady
is just nuts.Tom Brady is the best QB in the NFL.The Patriots will
have to cut the play book in half with Cassel in there. That's the only
chance they have to win.
Let him manage the game. The same way Brady did his first year
starting.I hope the Patriots think they can run the same offense with
Cassle.Because I don't see it happening. He is no where near as
accurate as the most accurate QB in the NFL.INT's will be coming if
the Patriots keep that wide open offense.Wait till teams get 2 or 3
weeks of game film on him.He maybe decent but he isn't close to Brady
in skill set. That means the Patriots are weaker. The AFC east is wide
open.

I think you and everyone else who follows the NFL is asking the same
question. Personally, I hope it was Brady. Because he's already been
in the league for ~10 years, he's not getting any younger, and he'll
come back a lesser QB because of the knee surgery. I remember when
Takeo blew out his achilles' and everyone thought he wouldn't miss a
step, I kept saying the best he could do is to come back a shell of
his former self, just like Sam Cowart...and was proven right. ACL
reconstruction isn't as aggressive as repairing a torn achilles, but
there's no way he'll ever be the same.
While I'm not rejoicing in someone's injury, I can't wait to see
Belichick fail.
