I'm not going to get on a player for not playing hurt, and Nugent
deserves some credit for hitting the XP later in the game despite the
injury. Mangini is at fault for not having someone ready to kick the
XP.
The problem with Nugent is he's just a decent kicker. He can't
possibly live up to his draft position. Every missed kick and it's
"the Jets wasted a 2nd round pick on *this guy*!?" Adam Vinatieri
wouldn't be considered a valuable player if he weren't on terrific
teams.

buRf, I see what you wrote. I understand it. I just don't believe
you.

Sorry suck it up. It is purely a gut feeling but I think he was
afraid.

..
I disagree he could be a great kicker--all he has to be is good to
justify the pick as it was a weak draft-- but I think his head is gone

At least Westhoff is back, maybe he can help.
O'Dea was supposed be a kicking specialist, but Nugent seems to have regressed.

I think Nugent needs a case of beer. I think he may be sfinished with
us. He looked scared,

He's always looked that way to me.
It goes back to something I used to say about Chad... that being *brought up* by the
Preacher, with his fear mistakes, fear everything mentality, screws some young players'
heads royally.
That's why I think Chad's going to have a good year. For the first time, he has a real
coach (Henning)... as opposed to tP, Hackett, Schott, etc.
