Can't agree with you here, I tjought they did the right thing to run
Jones late, try to make Miami use their last time out, and then run
our the clock. If we don't get the 5 yard penalty, we more than
likely get a first down on 3rd and 1, and then run out the clock.

on a 3rd and 7, a first down would have won the game. how do you take
the ball out of favre's hands? yes, running the ball with a lead to
kill the clock is academic, but how about a little credit to a guy
that will make a 3rd and 7 way more often than not. that conservative
thinking almost cost the jets the game.

You make an excellent point now with Brett Favre as our QB, but going
the conservative route keeps the ball on the ground, the clock running
and with the right alignment maybe a first down. With the passing
option, you have to consider the sack scenario with a potential loss
of field position or in a worst case situation an interception, giving
the Dolphins excellent field position with a time out left. Yes, it's
more conservative to run in that situation, but once again if we don't
get the penalty after the punt, and then stop them on downs, we're not
having this conversation. Sometimes, conservative is the way to go
(for me).

I'm glad we held on in the end; it seemed like another Jets game as
usual in those last few moments.
