I think Oden gets ROY but it will not be easy.
He has his work cut out to get more votes than Rudy since he is not an
ofensive player.

If they vote regionally then Rudy and Oden split the vote in the
West. However if it is a FAIR vote, and everyone is healthy, there
will be no doubt who is the best rookie.

Well we are judging guys before they play a game...and
Half the country and the media types that vote do not see the west games
very often...
Roy had no trouble, only one guy did not vote for him, a raptors announcer
that voted for bargnani

'Nothing to see here move along'? =)

I agree with the majority on TP and the suns because he has the most to work
with more than because it is TP but you might be right on the bucks and Rick
Carlisle.

MVP and the rest is too much speculation at this point but I hope you are
right about Artest

If Oden can be the major force on D that we think he will be, I think even
the East coasters will have to acknowledge him. There really aren't that
many defensive minded centers who can alter a game like Oden should, Big
Ben, Deek, & Younger Shaq being the most recent, & I think Oden could be
better than any of them.

As you say, though, at this point it's all speculation.

I think Oden also has the W-L on his side compared to guys in Miami
and Chicago. In some respects Rudy helps because they are not going
to be a lottery team. So they will go from being in the lottery, to
likely a 50 win team. Oden is going to anchor the middle and the
defensive FG% will likely be among the best in the league with LMA
helping out in there. So assuming they are in the 46-55 win threshold
and in the playoffs and Miami is Miami (big fat Magliore at Center and
a 6'7" rookie as their only post scoring option) I'm guessing they are
not a winner. Mayo puts up numbers (and a lot of shots) on a losing
team with a similar problem. Rose could help turn Chicago around as
they have some other players in Deng, Nocioni, Noah, Thomas, Hinrich
etc, but not like Portland.

He is also going to have the benefit of the hype....

Deke and Ben had to grow into it, Shaq had even bigger expectations as a
rookie because his offense was was expected too. Oden might surprise on that
front.

Shall we do the PTs RBs and Blks predictions?

I would think they keep his minutes down but I will guess
12-10 - 2.5

I'd rather see 10-12-2.5 myself, so I'll go with that. I think we'll have
plenty of scoring so GO needs to pull down those defensive boards & find the
open man on the break ala Bill Walton of old.

Go Blazers !

I will.

14 pts as 3rd or 4th option?

Well might be on Offensive rbs... they do not have a great FGP... it will
come up if Oden gets 14 ppg mostly at point blank range...

I'm guessing he gets some touches and a few put backs a game as
well....the kid is large.
