He walked two but got out of it. Did it look like he had that same
release problem he's had in the past, or was he not getting the calls
from the ump?

His mechanics were a little wonky. But the main problem, really, is that
he hadn't pitched in a week and with his complex mechanics that's not
helpful.

Yeah. Even on TV, I could see his mechanics were off. Apparently
Butcher could too, since after he went out, Shields settled down.
