I've just got back from hols to find that I have a singles place in the
Head of the Charles this year. Can anyone advise me the best way to go
about hiring a boat for the week? Should one approach clubs,
boatbuilders, the organisers? (Hang out in singles bars?)

Cheers,

David.

Approach the organisers first as ISTR that they have a register of people
who are prepared to lend or lease their boats

Organizers (Cambridge Boat Club) are probably the best bet. But if
you do not have any luck e-mail me. Don't have a boat for you but
might have some leads.

Have you had any luck? So far ive not heard anything from the
organisers about hiring a boat for the Head, ive only heard back from
Hudsen who can loan me a boat for a fee but without blades...

No, I haven't heard back from the organisers yet.
I might order a new set of blades for me to pick up when I get there. I
quite fancy a Hudson. How much are they asking for hire?

David.
