View Full Version : Can we please finally say goodbye to Howry?
Eric Margheim 08-15-2008, 06:22 PM I'm not sure what they are waiting for. There has to be someone in AAA or
a waiver wire deal that could be made to bring in an inning eating
right-hander who can do better than Howry.

Well, at least he didn't give up the lead last night.
Trying to look on the bright side...

Well a few more pitches and he probably would have. Anyways the Cubs are
here in Miami tonight. I flew to Chicago last weekend and caught the
Cubs/Cards series now this weekend I get Marlins / Cubs, what is it
Christmas in August?

Given the opportunity I'm sure he would have.

I'm green with envy.

I was going to the series this weekend but after the disaster in Tampa that
we attended I figured I'd better stay away.
Oh, and we skipped Atlanta this year.
It's interesting that Angel Guzman, although coming off Tommy John surgery,
has been doing very well
in the minors. Yesterday, he threw 3 good innings at Iowa. It has been
speculated that he will be a
September call-up.
If healthy, he brings another power arm to the pen. This may allow the Cubs
to sit Howry for the
better part of September. But Lou still seems to like him. I have no idea
why.
