View Full Version : Opinion/Note on Rudy F
Frank Rizzo 08-17-2008, 04:35 AM After watching Rudy play a couple times in the Olympics two things
jump out at me.
1) He's VERY skilled in a lot of facets of the game
2) He needs to hit the weights to survive the grind of an NBA
season.
I think playing behind Roy is the best thing to happen to him in that
he won't be asked to go 40 minutes for quite some time. He'll need
the next year or two to strengthen his body.

Throw in some more discipline in his game to the above and you have it...
on the white unit Nate can also team him with Sergio. They are both friends
and used to each other on the backcourt, played together on the national
team to win the world championship 2 years ago, and communication will be
easier.
Need to figure out if Sergio is a keeper...right now developing Rudy may be
his main use.

Sergio is an insurance policy in case Blake bolts or Bayless can't
handle the point at all.....nothing more.

They may well let Blake walk again next summer and I doubt they have given
up on Sergio yet.
But PG is not a real problem after Blake, all Bayless (or Rudy) will have to
do most plays is walk it up the floor and hand it off to BRoy. That was
Blake's main function last year and why he may not even want to stay.

You're right on both counts. I'd like to see a pure shooter at PG for
the Blazers as my first option. 2nd option would be a lock down
defender (like Nate was).....Either of those would blend nicely with
the roster. Blake can get hot, but I'd rather have a Dell Curry or
Mark Price type of shooter to play that spot.

I like Layden's quotes, but Earl Strom's are hard to beat.

Good point. With Webster inconsistant and Jones in Miami 3 point shooting
may be a problem.

Laydon was more prolific as is Barkley... =)

I used my backup server because individual.net was down.
That is a name I use on some blogs and message boards and a couple of
non-BBall newsgroups.
The word is Brit slang for a glance or 'hey look!'
Still signed Laurel T though. =)
Dekko was a good dog...a little dumb and a whole lot crazy but in a good
way for a sled dog in sprint races...think sparkplug role player... No off
switch on that dog which was bad on the iditarod because he would not rest.
His 4 littermates were all good to great leaders.

Others are 3 more from the D litter, Deska on Lead, Dziwa,
