View Full Version : US Men's Team
Robert Chin 08-14-2008, 04:21 PM The more I watch, the more I am convinced of three things...
1) The US Mens will win the Gold fairly easily but not convincingly. They
just seem to take a while to warm up. When they do warm up and build a big
lead, the go for the cruise and not the kill. They could have done Greece
in today by 40+ if they had decided to.
2) To be the dominant team attitude-wise, they really needed KG's ferocity
and consistent determination. Last seasons MVP voting seems more and more a
travesty everyday.
3) Based on his play to date, Kobe continues to be, AT BEST, the 4th best
player on the US Mens team. That is being generous. Lebron is the clear
alpha male on this squad, and Dwayne Wade has been just a notch below.
Chris Bosh has been a revelation. Deron Williams and Chris Paul have both
been very consistent when on the court. Then MAYBE after them comes Kobe.

You must not have read or watched any of the media the past four
months or so. They all told me that Kobe is the best player on the
planet, the greatest player in the Universe, the most awesome teammate
ever, completely and totally unstoppable -- heck, SI listed the
toughest things to do in sports and they listed hitting .400, throwing
back to back no-hitters and, shutting down Kobe Bryant. So they must
be right, Kobe is so super awesome and great he defies description.
Or, so paraphrase the late great Richar Pryor, "Who are you going to
believe? The media or your lying eyes?"

I appreciate conversing with someone well versed in common sense and the
classics.

actually in this case the lying eyes are celtics fans like you who
hate kobe because he is the best in the league. if he was on your team
your lying eyes would miraculously open up and see the truth. dont be
a hater.

<retardedness removed>
....is an overrated, overhyped, Dominique Wilkins WANNABE for the new
millenium?
Um, in case you haven't noticed, the Truth (pun intended) made Kobe look bad
in the playoffs. His string of overrateness is continuing this deep into
the Olympics. Let me put it to you in a way you can not mistake...Kobe has
sucked in the Olympics. The USA Men's Team has played BETTER when ratface
Kobe has been on the bench and Wade is in.
Lebron is the best player in the world, NBA included. Wade is the second
best. Kobe? He's only the best in the LA postal codes.
Try watching the games so you can learn. This ain't hating. It's da'
facts.

Keep trying to convince yourself of your banalities while I enjoy the C's
Championship, appreciate Lebron and Wade, and see you make an ass of
yourself.

how can you enjoy the cees championship? you had nothing to do with
it. you dont get a ring. you werent in the parade and its been over
for weeks now. the new season will start and they will not repeat. but
maybe since you are so delusional you think all of those things
happened to you.
ps please dont use a word like banalities if you dont understand what
it means. thank you.
