to Bart Giamatti's agreement. He waited quite a few years before

He's been a definite troll for months, if not more. If he's that into
Rose, and wants to say so in any of the newsgroups he wants to post to,
no problem, but attempts to co-opt other people's enthusiasm and
manipulate situations into essentially forcing people not inclined to
respect or admire Rose, into doing just that, is not only wrong, but
frequently inflammatory, and it's inconceivable at this point that he's
unaware of it. Even if it's not successful, it's the thought that
counts.

True enough. The controversy has caused some people to over-rate
Pete's accomplishments, he got on the All-Century Team ahead of Frank
Robinson, and others to vastly downgrade them The over-raters are
more numerous, I think but the downgraders make sillier remarks.

He was a clear HoF choice but three All-Time All-Star teams could
easily be picked that legitimately leave him off.

He made the most Hits and the most Outs in baseball history. Certainly
a notable careeer.
