....
"Miami is trying to take the pressure off Dwyane Wade from handling the
ball, so Rose really, really would free him up from injuries and doing so
much work," the scout said, "but it also doesn't make a whole lot of sense
passing up Michael Beasley."

The Heat, however, isn't exactly weak at forward with Shawn Marion and
Udonis Haslem. If Beasley goes to Miami, he'll have something in common with
Haslem. Both played for K-State coach Frank Martin (Beasley at K-State,
Haslem in high school in Miami).

....

Heat really need a PG, but are reluctant to pass on Beasley. Beasley
seems like exactly the kind of player Raps are lacking.

Since I don't see the Heat wanting to take on Ford's contract since
they're going to target Brand in a year or so, Calderon for the #1
pick? I just don't see that happening.

Ford is going to be a bitch to shift, if the BYC reports are true. Rasho
is our trading piece.

I think what's more likely is that if Miami doesn't get Rose, they
approach us for the services of TJ Ford. Since TJ Ford gets paid a
decent amount, I guessing it's not a draft choice trade, more like an
player exchange of some sort.

Perhaps a deal like Rasho, Parker, TJ Ford for Shawn Marion. Then
they draft Beasley.

Of course the problem with getting Shawn Marion is he wanted to leave
Phoenix because he felt he wasn't getting enough spotlight and credit
for his work, with Amare Stoudemire there. The same thing will likely
happen here with Bosh. So he's not going to be happy. And he's not
on a long contract as it's about to expire. So basically, we need to
find a way to convince him of his fame and glory here in Toronto.
Otherwise he joins for a year and he's gone.

I've never been overly fond of Marion. Maybe because I never see Phoenix
games, but I always thought he was overrated. Still, he's the kind of
player the Raps need I guess. He can rebound, defend and score in the
paint. I don't think he's the kind of guy that creates his own shots, which
is something else the Raps need. They also don't need him jacking up ugly
looking 3s. That's Barg's job.

I agree with you on those points.. however Marion is a known
commodity. Beasley is not. I'm not sure who you draft with Miami's
pick, but I'm guessing after a last-place finish, Riley's not stupid
enough to think they're in for a major turnaround just because Wade is
healthy. They're gonna want to keep their pick at all costs, and
getting TJ Ford isn't exactly a big seller point for them.

....right when there's a bumper crop of free agents, and Jose's raise
kicks in. In other words, right when we need cap space.

When was the last big crop of free agents, and who did we sign then?
