I'm not talking about draft picks. That another post. I'm referring
to the 3 assistant coaches the Pistons have hired. They added Darrell
Walker, Pat Sullivan and Harold Ellis as assistant coaches. Walker
and Ellis are ex-players and Pat Sullivan was assistant coach/video
coordinator for the Pistons during the 2003-04 NBA Championship season
and was promoted to the bench during the 2004-05 campaign and then
went to the Nets as an assistant.

As webbie has mentioned, Sullivan was on the North Carolina Tar Heals
from 1991 to 1995 as a player and served as an assistant coach there
until 2001.

I've not read where any of Flip's previous staff were retained or not.
We know Terry Porter went to be head coach of Phoenix, but I'm
wondering if the "Big RedHead" Dave Cowans is still on staff or not?
It would be a shame to lose him.

I think you put that whole staff together and add the fact that Dave Collins
has been retained, I think you have exactly what you need for Michael Curry

Who the heck is Dave Collins? Was George thinking of Doug Collins and
got confused with Dave Cowens? Now I'm confused!

Curry filled out his coaching staff by hiring Walker and former Atlanta
Hawks assistant Harold Ellis to join Dave Cowens and Pat Sullivan.

They join Dave Cowens, who has been a Pistons assistant the past two
seasons, and Pat Sullivan, who returns after a three-year stint with the New
Jersey Nets. Sullivan was an assistant coach on Detroit's 2004 NBA
championship team.
