We seem to have 9 guards!
Rose
Weems
Hinrich
Gordan
Duhan
Sefalosha
Hughes
Curry
Brown
So what happens to them? Is Gordon a free agent? Is Hinrich
tradeable or does he have too big a contract? If they trade Sefalosha,
in the newsgroup tradition I may have to go downtown and pee on Pax.
I would think Weems, Curry, and/or Brown would go to the D-league,
or do they just get dropped?

Restricted. He's not going anywhere without some sort of
compensation.

His contract is not that bad as such things go. It was front loaded,
so it decreases every year. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/chicago.htm
I've heard a lot of people say they think Hinrich would do better at
the 2. If Pax believes that, it doesn't make sense to trade him until
he sees how well it works to have Rose and Hinrich together in the
backcourt.

I don't see Sefolosha going anywhere. He's not worn out his welcome,
and he's on a rookie contract, so Pax has no reason to get rid of
him. Duhon, OTOH, is a UFA, and he's almost certainly gone.
I see several possibilities:
1) If Pax does not think Rose and Hinrich can coexist, Hinrich can be
traded
2) Hughes can go to a team that needs a big expiring contract
3) Gordon can go in a sign-and-trade
4) Vinny decides to go with a three guard lineup (moving the logjam to
the forward and/or center spots)
5) Everyone is retained, but some guys get their minutes drastically
cut.
6) Pax receives an offer he can't refuse

Weems already got traded for that Turkish center. Curry and/or Brown,
who really cares? They are not going to see any real PT unless there
are multiple injuries.

Agreed.
Though I had a devilish thought this morning. Josh Smith is a free
agent. Atlanta has plenty of talent (i.e., top 3 picks!) in the
frontcourt: Al Horton, Shelden Williams, Marvin Williams. Not to
mention Josh Childress. However, they need a PG like Britney needs a
pair of panties / wig / year's supply of lithium. How about a sign-and-
trade? We could throw in another player in case the salaries are a
little off. I know Smith's a knucklehead but he's young and has a
world of talent. Although I fear what this would do for Brad's mental
health.
Sorry, a little sleep-deprived.

Meaning Hinrich + another player for Smith.
