I have seen the following people mentioned in connection with the
coaching vacancy. Who would you prefer, and why?

Jeff Hornacek
Chuck Person
Avery Johnson
Jeff Bzdelik
Elston Turner
Dwane Casey
Eric Snow
Tyrone Corbin
Brian Shaw
Tom Thibodeau
Mark Jackson

This is a trick question -- there's no right answer.

How about Doug Collins - as ESPN is saying today?

Collins scares me, but maybe he's mellowed with age. One thing,
though, is that I saw an article that said one of the other coaches
that Pax is interviewing will likely be hired as an assistant. Which
makes me wonder if the Collins thing might be a short term plan by
design, with an heir apparent.

I've always liked Doug Collins as a coach. Disappointed when he became
Jordan's lap dog in Washington, but otherwise I think he's a solid X/Os
kinda guy. Players may feel otherwise, however (at least that was the
feeling i got...)

Agreed on all points. That last bit is the part that scares me.
Still, he seems preferable to many, if not all, of the other options.
