How did Damien Woody do at right tackle last year?
How would you say he did last year overall, plus his career overall
with the Lions?
Thanks in advance from a Jets fan.

He's been hurt a lot, had some weight issues and getting older. On the
other hand, he's able to play more than one position on the line and he has
had some good games. In a typical case of Millen's foresight, he's been
let go without any clear replacement -- he's hoping that the first round
pick will be able to start quickly and hasn't bothered to try to get any
other young linemen into an OL that struggled last year and has been weak
for years.

Thanks for the reply. Any other 'inside info' on Woody? Do you think
he can adequately handle RT with the Jets?

He played about 2 games there for the Lions before getting hurt and I think
he was adequate, but the Lions OL has been bad for so long it's hard to
know when one guy is blocking well and when he's just being ignored by the
defense because someone else is blocking worse . RT may be a better
position for him than guard because he's not the most mobile guy, but I
don't know how well he'd do without a TE to help out. Based on the number
of injuries he's had and his age, I wouldn't want to bet he'd be around for
more than a couple of years.
