He's half a coach... the Suns never played any D.

Picture Curry, Malik Rose, and Zach getting back down to shoot in 7
secs or less. That's 900 lbs right there.
Changes will be made. Big ones, I'm guessing.

I'd hope so. But what??? A lot of questions here. You'd think Walsh
would move to build the team around D'Antoni's style but for the
immediate moment it's hard to fathom the compatibility between the
coach and team. 3/5 of the current starting lineup doesn't fit his
style and are going to be very difficult to move. I mean, these guys
have _no_ value... Marbury's an expiring but Walsh promised us no
deals beyond 2010. So does he break that promise or pull off a miracle
for a 2 year contract instead of an expiring???
On to the coach: Will D'Antoni still run Seven Seconds Or Less without
Nash? Our role players and youngin's may be able to run the way
D'Antoni likes to... but we don't have the head. The money player...
which leads me to the last question...
Is The Fix in for Derrick Rose?

We have been told that Walshy won't make fire sale changes and that the
focus is on 2010, right? Right? So who cares what happens in the next 2
years? D' would have served his off-Broadway mission of a high-visibility
act, fans will be treated to a faster show, Nate will have his joy, and D'
will collect the $12MM owed on his contract then and the show will go on...
> Is The Fix in for Derrick Rose?
Don't rub it in. The brave 12 did all they could to get us into that
position but fell short of 3 places. If D. Rose is twice the C. Paul of
today, will he be enough for this team?
So is D. Rose the last refuge of Walsh apologists? :-)

Put me in the "could care less" column. A coach - real or fake - can't win
games without a team, and the Knicks have no team.

Knicks got some runners: Crawford, Marbury (yeah he's around),
Robinson, etc. Run MRC.
The end of the big men experiment in NYC.

Marbury has never successfully led a running offense... and D'Antoni
pushed him out in Phoenix. With this hire I don't see how he sticks
around past the summer.

More of a pipe dream from a Knicks fan, period. He's a player I wanted
on this team _before_ either D'Antoni or Walsh was here. But I'd think
he'd fit like a glove in one of D'Antoni's schemes.

He won't, but he will be running the O for this one year. he all may be
surprised. Marbury is a selfish moron, but I don't think he is totally
stupid. He now has a coach with a plan. If he can play decent, this may get
him another contract as a back up, just not in NY.

Please just ride out Marbury's $20 million instead of trading him for
$20 million worth of long term garbage.

It all depends who it is. I think it is foolish to just not look at
anything. If the Knicks could trade Marbury (who actually has value this
season) for Ginobli and Oberto for example, would you not do it. Oh, and to
anyone who is going ot get all bent that salaries don't match, it is only an
example and I know the Spurs would never trade those two in a salary dump.

No and no. The point for the Knicks is to get under the cap and sign
a potential Lebron James or whoever is the big name free agent. I
don't know if it's true that everyone in the NBA wants to play in NYC,
but Knicks sure made it impossible to even test out that theory. Stop
spending the maximum and teasing the fans with 40-45 win teams when
the right course of action is to totally dump salary and build a real
55-60 win team the way David Checketts pulls it off in the early 90s.

And yet they're not "elites" somehow. A nifty trick indeed!
("Elite" is the new prominent floating signifier that you use to club
your opponent. Never mind giving a precise definition of what it
means; in context it means you're a no-good shit and not like "us" :
honest, hard-working, in touch with "reality" and generally on the up-
and-up. Almost every usage of the word will be sheer semantic bullshit
through November.)
