View Full Version : Josh Howard is on the Market

I don't care that the guy smokes weed. High-five for him. However, his
timing is just horrible. This action by Howard just demonstrates the lack of
desire the Mav players have had in aquiring more in the playoffs. I expect
him to be on the trading block this off-season.

The following is what I read at Dallas Morning News Web Blog...
His picked the poorest possible time to make radio reefer confessions,
making his fondness for marijuana a national story the afternoon of Game 3.
And J(o)-Ho didn't learn by causing that silly distraction. He handed out
flyers for his birthday party in the locker room after Game 4, a crushing
loss that all but ended the Mavs' season.

Avery Johnson, who had a reasonable no-partying-during-the-playoffs rule,
was livid when he learned about Howard and a few teammates living it up on
the town. That's why he canceled what would have been the last practice
during his Dallas tenure.

"That's new news to me," Howard said this afternoon.

J(o)-Ho mentioned that he'd already apologized for his radio appearance, but
he didn't sound like a guy who regretted his actions. "You only live once,"
said Howard, who is still the Mavs' best chip (other than untouchable Dirk)
on the trade market.

He also stressed that he's not a "bad person." And he's right. But he was a
terrible teammate during this series.

And he was awful on the court, too, but he seems to think his horrible
shooting was just bad luck.

"I couldn't make the shots that I've been making," Howard said, giggling at
a question about how the Hornets defended him. "They went up and just hit
the side of the rim or went in and out. You can't control what the ball do.
Crazy, man. Y'all hilarious."

With that, Howard's off-season officially began. When the smoke clears, he
might not be a Maverick.

Good riddance to Howard! Wish he'd take Cuban with him.

Cuban may have spent the money to have a championship,
but HE is the one most responsible for the sad results.
Cuban and his ego let Nash get away. It took him way
too long to realize that HE was becoming a major distraction
with his courtside rants and fines. Guess he thought the
money he was spending in fines was well worth the
exposure he was getting. OK.... to this day, has he
EVER admitted that it was a mistake to let Nash get
away? I don't think so. He pushes to get Jason Kidd,
and the team sinks further.

AJ is a man of character and I doubt that there is ANY
couch out there who would have gotten the Mavs. past
New Orleans..... and it is doubtful they will get past
the Lakers. Curban has taken a team with so so
abilities and managed to get even less out of it. Looks
to me like AJ should have stayed and Cuban fired himself.

Most of the teams in the league spend about the same, give or take 6...

Nash offers no defense, and if he had played like an MVP for us then he
probablly would have gotten a check.

What else do you do when your team is scraping to get in the playoffs in the
final weeks?

You are an idiot for blaming Cuban for the subpar preformance of this team.

Howard is a good guy off the bench-at most
Cuban irates the carp out of me-doesn't that guy have a life-does he have to
go to every game-- but he does care-
but he might express it in a non winning manner
