Avery is a good man, he has some serious humility, along with a lotta
knowledge... I hope he goes somewhere where he's appreciated-I bet he
could make the knicks about a .500 club, or get the bulls in the
playoffs...no coach will do anything with the Mavs as configurated...

The mavs as currently configured still have a lot of talent, enough to
make it to the championships with the right attitude. That's a lot of
where the coach comes in is in shaping that attitude. You'd think
Avery could do that with his competitive nature and personality but he
and his team just fizzled. He even canceled practice after game 4 was
lost. Avery obviously lost the respect of the players towards the end
of the season and it showed in their play, and even their comments to
the media. He wasn't able to take charge and empower his team. If it
was just 1 or 2 players having a bad attitude it would be one thing,
but the whole team just seemed to have given up. Avery is a great fair
weather coach but when his team starts losing he starts with his
whining and saracastic comments: "it's my fault we lost, it must be
me, my fault we can't shoot free throws or make layups..blah blah
blah".

Mavs were seriously weak at Center and Kidd is just another guard
now...other than bass the bench is nothin...I could be wrong, but I
doubt it...

Dampier needs to go that's for sure. Don't knock Kidd yet though.
It's hard for a PG to come in late in the season, it takes a while to
adapt to a new team and vice versa.
