I was at Little League for a double header,
and missed the game. But...........................

Did Wedge actually Intentionally WALK Inge
to bring up Edgar Renteria ????????!!!???

Who then hit a Grand Slam ????????????

Is anyone on Earth surprised besides that idiot Wedge??

He walked Inge to set up the double play.
Ryan Raburn was the next batter. He struck out.
Then came Renteria.

Thanks for the info....

This year's team is just a huge mystery.
How a decent hitting team and an excellent bullpen
can vanish into thin air is hard to explain.

Injuries are understandable.
What happened to Betancourt, CC, Sizemore, Peralta, Hafner, et al.
is not so easily understood.

The team seems like they know they aren't good,
and that there are reasons not to hustle and play hard.

They appear to have given up in May.

Now you know how we feel in Detroit, just change the names.

I thought it was going to be Cleveland and Detroit both running away and
fighting it out amoung themselves. Go figure.

even if the tigers hit, they never really did enough to repair the
bullpen IMO. but it could have meant winning 10-8 instead of 10-4. the
only good thing is that we didn't mortgage our future comparatively
speaking.

Well, if Zumya and Rodney were healthy, they would be better off for sure.
And I don't think anyone saw Verlander getting his crappy start and
Bonderman being so off this year. And to be honest, their hitting is not
happening as advertised. They get on some streaks but on the same note, they
get some lulls which just kill them. If they were consistant, then that
would be much more positive.

One thing is helping both our teams (yeah, like we own them) is our
division. Minn. is where they should be IMO and I would question if the
CWS can keep it up. But it's a very long road back that the Tigers seem
hesitant to jump on.

everyone NOT in detroit saw dontrelle willis stinking up the joint. he
couldn't even last 2 innings against *us*.

and the tiger starters are still barely making it out of the sixth
inning most of the time. that inability to go longer into the game
just magnifies the ineffectiveness of the bullpen - just like last
year.

can the average detroit fan can that throwing 90+ pitches by the fifth
innings hurts the bullpen in the long run?

there are lots of great arms in MLB that still haven't learned how to
*pitch*. that's what held sabathia back; instead of pounding the ball
at 98 mph until he got yanked, he finally figured out that throwing at
92-93 allowed him to spot his locations better - and instead of trying
to strike everybody out on 3-2 counts, going through an inning
throwing 10-12 pitches gave him a shot at pitching complete games.

i suspect verlander could be that good if he figures it out.

but verlander's all the tigers to show for having FOUR picks in the
top three from '97 to '05. unfortuantely, the indians don't have a
great record for 1st round picks during that time period either.
