View Full Version : Joe's bit the bull shit again, Sheed STAYS!

Curry was hired as the new coach of the Pistons and Sheed shows up at
the press conference, only team member to do so.

NOW Curry hires Pat Sullivan as his first assistant. To most that
wouldn't mean a thing.
But to the more knowledgeable Pat Sullivan used to be Sheed's room mate.

Now they seek Zach Randolph, whom Sheed tutored.

Joe makes a statement he dose not believe the team needs to be broken
up.

You don't have to read between the lines on this one.....

The more knowledgeable being anyone that read the message boards this
morning, read the reports, followed UNC basketball and have ever visited
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Loge/7346/ and know he was one of the
writers of the original "100 reason we love 'Sheed"

A rumor I suppose... since they could not have said the at a news
conference.

I can not see Dumars taking that contract even though it is not quite as bad
as at first glance. The knowledgeable know it is part incentive 1 or 2 mil,
I think it is 2... and what that incentive is, make the allstar game, and
that the contract is 30% defered...

Next year he makes 14.6 -2 since he is not going to the all-star game 12.6
on the cap.
$30% deferred they are writing checks for 8.8.

Zach does not play defense but he can average 20-10 and gives them a real
post player and he has a mid range game.

Lots of good reasons BBall and money wise to keep 'Sheed and even for his
coaching of maxiell...and ...the best reason is to annoy you...

Apparently you do...says Joe

http://blog.mlive.com/fullcourtpress/2008/06/detroit_pistons_billups_might.html
McCosky also asked Joe Dumars if the fact that the Pistons hired former
Rasheed Wallace teammate Pat Sullivan as an assistant coach to Michael Curry
if that meant that Rasheed was staying a Piston.

Dumars gave me an emphatic "no" when I raised that question last week. The
hiring of Curry and Sullivan (Wallace's former roomie at Chapel Hill) were
done for the benefit of the entire team as it moves forward. It, Dumars
said, has no bearing on whether Wallace will be traded or not.

Yeah right! Joe's complying to the very wishes of Sheed, it was the two
that had a meeting after the season. Told ya' before Wallace is a
racist, he'll play for a black man and probably enter one the best
seasons he's had in ages if kept here.

If we obtain Randolph then Maxiell and Dyss go to the auction block.
Not worried about Zach's defense the league isn't interested in that
style of play and last season neither were the Pistons. If called upon
he could do it.

Still the accustion of Allen Iverson is the most pressing situation,
with him here and Billups gone we'll have a legit superstar and rank
right there with Boston. The NBA is a business and clearly to obtain
titles in the future we'll have to have a feature player. Currently none
of the Pistons fit that billing.

How many times does it take for Dumars to see Sheed's not interested in
sincerely playing in the pay offs...I mean play offs?

Three seasons with Flip at the helm and Sheed absent from the paint
we've enjoyed no success in the weakened Eastern Conference.
This team was built for long term success yet we've obtained only one
title with this crew.
Saunders addition was an obvious error and his subtraction much too
late.

Now Joe's sincerely investing in Wallace again?
On general principal that can't be, nor can Rasheed be trusted. His
lack luster performances against Boston are unforgivable.
Even Hamilton who's for the most part soft spoken and proffessional had
a problem with Rasheed Wallace in the Boston series. That speaks
volumes. Billups poor play was notable as well and it is just as urgent
to relieve this team of him as well. The window of opportunity is
closing on this crew as teams are getting better. Detroit is no longer
the measure of success in the East. The future proves any team wishing
to contend in the finals will have to hold a feature player, a star
athlete.
Allen Iverson fits that billing, what's the delay?

Yeah because he only had the DPOTY guarding him...

Odd, 'Sheed said the same thing before the CFs

Yeah they ran into a better team...and your predicted Miami dynasty is
looking good too.

Make it superstar HOF level player.
That has only been true for 60 years... with a few exceptions...like Detroit
when the beat a team with 4 HOF players...

> Allen Iverson fits that billing, what's the delay?

That everyone else knows he does not fit that bill.
And why would Denver part with him if he is this piece that takes teams to a
championship? Shall we count his rings?

What is the accusation of Allen Iverson? Iverson is great one on

Or not...

There is a trade rumor floating as Baron Davis for 'Sheed and Billups.
Warriors have a big trade exception so that works for the pistons to get a
bit younger and use 'Sheed's ending contract a year early to dump salary and
move Billup's 4 year contract for Davis' ending contract. They could likely
re-sign him cheaper next summer.

Steven A Smitrh claims 'Sheed told him at the
all-star game he will retire after next season .
Which could be anything from the truth to SAM lying as usual to 'Sheed
jerking his chain.

Is there anyone here that thinks for one second that A I can't run the
point guard position here along side Rip Hamilton and Tayshawn Prince?

Iverson's a player, he grew up no taller than he is now, probably played
point before he received his first free pair a gym shoes!!!

Don't try and classify that brother or think for a second he's limited
in ability with this game.

Iverson @point, Rip the two, Prince the 3, Dyss or Randolph the 4 and
we'll have to find a five,,,it's gravy!

Yeah it's gravy bruh.... Diaper gravy.

Iverson is as much of a point guard as Arenas. Why'd you think the
Nuggets are LOOKING for a point guard? Iverson's game(or for the
betterment of the team chemistry) is best suited when someone else is
holding down the PG spot. Ex. 2001 in Phily with Eric Snow.

I've heard that Denver wanted Billups but wanted to give up A.I.
instead of 'Melo and that doesn't sit right with Joe D. Sure A.I. was
going to be a Piston years ago but the trade fell apart but A.I. is
what 32? Too late now...

Oh I am sure webbie knows a cure for Barb too... likley involves aliens

He knows the cause...using a computer instead of webTV...

First, let me state that I can't stand Steven A. Smith and he's wrong
more than he's right.

Secondly, the rumor I heard was Davis and Harrington for Billups and
Wallace.

I don't like that trade. Stuckey is the heir apparent of Billups and
could carry the team almost just as well right now. Davis is a great
shooter and a fair ball handler. He dished out 7.6 assists per game
as opposed to Chauncey's 6.8. But Davis turned the ball over way too
much, 232 times as compared to Chauncey's 160. Scoring wise, Davis
score 21 points a game, Chauncey 17. But Chauncey has a better
percentage (44% vs 42%) and is a better 3 point shooter (41% vs 33%).

So, other than a few years in age and the contracts, I see no
advantage for the Pistons in dumping Chauncey for Baron Davis. As far
as Rasheed for Harrington, I saw a lot of Al when he was a Pacer.
There was a good reason they dumped him along with Steven Jackson.
Harrington is younger than Rasheed and has a smaller contract but he's
not near the defender nor scorer that Rasheed is.

Dumars also explored trading Rip Hamilton to Toronto for Jose
Calderon. That hasn't happened and probably wont. Raptors just moved
up the ladder in terms of elite teams by getting Jermaine O'Neil from
the Pacers to play along side budding superstar Chris Bosh. Pacers
solidified their guard position by getting T.J. Ford and can now trade
or cut Jamaal Tinsley..finally!

Look for the Pistons to draft a big guy in tonight's draft.

I don't think so. If he/she/it was, he/she/it would be more lucid.

HEY...I resemble that remark...

Regardless of what you all claim, the window is closing around the
current roster in hopes of obtaining a championship.

You need a feature all star to play in NBA championships for ratings, we
don't currently have one.

You all can shuffle around the deck all you like but A I is the ANSWER!
Pun intended!

No one has claimed otherwise. You can not even figure out when you are
actually stating a real fact...

They have 3 allstars and one that should have been...just no superstars and
it normally takes two of those.

I will take 'which of the superstars changing conferences in the last 4
years has failed to get his new team out of the first round" for 100 Alex.
