The Nuggets...crumbled around one of their stars, Carmelo
Anthony, who had 12 turnovers and just eight assists in the
series while never shooting as high as 43% in a single game.
“The Nuggets always look dangerous from a distance as they did
this season, winning 50 games with Carmelo Anthony and Allen
Iverson, the NBA’s highest-scoring tandem, averaging a combined

playoffs when Anthony gets double-teamed, presenting him a
choice between passing the ball … or holding it longer. This
makes five playoff appearances in Anthony’s five seasons, in
which the Nuggets have played 24 games and lost 20.” He won two
more postseason games — six for six — in his single NCAA
tournament appearance, with Syracuse as a freshman.

George Karl was Mr. Anthony’s coach in four of those five
seasons, leading Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla to call for
Mr. Karl’s ouster. “While Karl preaches, his players are asleep
