Game On In Portland?
Written by Lance Venta · March 21, 2008

Will Portland see an All-Sports FM? Rose City Radio could soon be shifting
Rhythmic CHR "Jammin 95.5" KXJM in that direction.

Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder, who owns Rose City Radio also owns the
NBA's Portland Trail Blazers and NFL's Seattle Seahawks, which would give
instant content for the new station in tandem with sister News/Talk 750 KXL.
The domain 955TheGame.com, was registered on Tuesday by KXL Sports Director
Jay Allen. We're not sure if there is any relation between Jay and Paul
Allen.

Also curious is the timing of this registration following the incident on
Friday, March 14, where a disgruntled KXJM listener drove his car in to the
lobby of the station's offices.

Oh great, more Seahawks Talk for Dan. : )

Seriously though, it would be great for me to have the games carried on an
FM station as getting decent reception out here in the Gorge is damn near
impossible.

Go Blazers !

I didn't think sports radio was such a profitable endeavor to where it
deserves to be on an FM frequency. Sure, it would be cool to hear the
Seahawks and Blazer games on the radio without having to resort to the old
"FOX viewing positions", but in the long run, what do they plan on putting
on the air to keep the money coming in? Semi-pro sports like the Beavers and
Timbers during the NBA/NFL off season?

How long before we can get Blazer games on the radio, or tv for that
matter, up here in the Seattle-Tacoma area?

hell, when are we going to get Blazer games on TV in PORTLAND?

Swillabrew, you should invest in a good select-a-tenna (for AM). They
have one at ccrane.com

I bought mine there, and they have one thats a lot better for not a
lot more.

if you have dish, direct or live outside of the metro area (and can't
get comcast) you're basically screwed out of the majority of games.

The Blazers and Comcast signed a contract last year, creating a new
station (CSN-NW). The only problem? It's not available for Dish and
Direct users, or people who don't get comcast (or in some cases,
can't).

Thanks for the website, but my problem is when I'm driving around the Gorge
& I didn't see anything to boost AM signal in my rig. I'm not sure there is
anything & I'm too cheap to spring for satelite radio. If I'm at home, I'll
watch the games on Raps (thanks again to Laurel for turning me on to that).

Go Blazers !

I believe a whip antenna (for cars) is really good. I don't know
(right off the top fo my head) where to get one.
