Brett Favre's final record against the Lions.

I wonder how Aaron Rodgers will do.

until i see it NOT happen, i still firmly believe they'll find a way to
shove his dead carcass out there twice a year against the lions

I'm guessing GB's downslide starts this year.

It felt like the last couple of years that the team was Brett Favre and a
bunch of baling wire, smoke and mirrors, but I have to admit that GM Ted
Thompson has done a decent job rebuilding the club finding guys who play
well together and without going nuts chasing superstars. They have a
pretty solid core -- their defense is pretty good and their OL is decent.
They've got a huge hole to fill, but in a couple of years they may make a
decent playoff run.

I still think they're the best in our division, which really isn't
saying much.

They've done a great job at staying, oh I don't know what you'd call it...a
mediocre yearly playoff team, but I think most of that has been because they
have Favre. I see the same type of team in the Packers (without Favre) as I
do the Pistons. They have alot of guys that are good but not great and they
play extremely well together. Without Brett to Captain their offensive
juggernaut, I don't see them outscoring very many teams.

They're competing with the Vikings for the "best in the North" title.
Aaron Rogers showed a couple of times last season when he came in for
Bret that he's a pretty good QB. However, he's missed more games due
to injury than Bret did in his entire career with Green Bay. Green
Bay does have a good young team with a lot of upside. But I don't
believe they'll be able to duplicate last season's success. Maybe in
another year or so they will, but not in 2008.

Even though Bret Favre always beat the crap out of the Lions, I always
liked him. It'll be strange not seeing him under center for the
Packers this season. But I felt the same when Montana left the 49ers.
Football, like live, goes on. Happy retirement Bret.

Not sure, but I presume that made him 7-9 at Detroit, and 16-0 in
Lambeau? Did he EVER lose to the Leos in GBay? I don't recall it
happening.

I contend that Favre's records should have an asterisk.

* Includes 32 games against the Detroit Lions.

Agreed, with minor variation where necessary like:

Favre, Brett
Career playoff record as starting quarterback: 12-10*

* 10-10 against teams other than Detroit Lions

Hey, until last season the Lions didn't have the losingest regular season
record against him. The Bears were 8-22 to the Lions 9-21.

On second thought, never mind.

***Denotes QB that played in NFC North.
