Now the Chinese National team is coming out with another stupid excuse
as to why Yi should not join the Milwaukee Bucks, that being that the
Bucks have too many tall people. There 'point' if you can take it as
legit is that their #1 concern is development of Yi for Team China and
that if he was to play for the Milwaukee Bucks that he would have a
difficult time garnering playing time and this would in fact stunt his
growth. The Bucks have two young talented big men, Yi would at worst
be the first guy off the bench if he's good. This is just another
lame excuse.

Indeed.

He doesn't want to go to Milwaukee.

So what? He's got leverage, why not use it? Certainly the league is
happy to use its leverage to send players where they don't want to go
most of the time, so why isn't turnabout fair play now?

I agree. There are only a few times in a player's career where he has the
leverage to go (or not go) where he wants. If Yi (and his handlers) don't
want to go to Milwaukee then he shouldn't go. Of course, that means he may
not play in the NBA for a while but that is his choice. As for the Bucks,
why would they (or any team for that matter) want a player who doesn't want
to be there? At some point they'll probably trade his rights for the best
deal they can get.

What leverage? He has absolutely none. He plays for Milwaukee or no NBA tema
and stays in China. If he comes back, he plays for Milwaukee. That's his
"leverage".
